Torrevieja was originally a salt-mining and fishing
village as it is located between the sea and two large
salt lakes (
Las Salinas), which give Torrevieja a
healthy
micro climate. Torrevieja is more of a spanish
resort than Benidorm or other package tour destinations.
It is very popular with Spaniards to have villas here.
Also popular with other Europeans to work, live and
holiday here. There is lots to do. Easy access to all
the major towns and villages and is serviced by

been renewed. The main beach has very fine sand. There
are two marinas. The public and a private marinas.
Besides the front line shops, restaurants, ice cream
parlours, there is a daily hippy market and a fairground.
Behind the front line is the main town, which bustles
with shops and restaurants. There are plenty of places
to visit. There is the
Island of
Tabarca, about 30 min on the glass bottom ferry.
It used to be inhabited by Pirates. Now there is a
village and a community, small shops and hotel.

December.
