Costa Blanca can get very hot in the summer,
sometimes up to 40 degrees, so take care and
have high UV suntan preparation. The
BBC Weather is a good place to find what the
weather is doing.
If you
prefer lower temperatures and have a choice,
February to May and September to December are
usually very pleasant. The flights, hotels and
other accommodation are usually on lower tariffs,
around that time also.
Places to visit. Things to Do. Fiestas to enjoy. It all depends where you are staying and
I can't put every single item on your agenda,
just point you in the right direction. For
example if you are staying in
Benidorm there is
Terra
Mitica /
Terra Natura /
Mundomar /
Aqualandia
. You can easily visit any of these theme
parks if you are either staying there or don't
mind travelling a few kilometres. Sometimes you
can get special offers to get in and also there
are coach trips that do specials. If you like a
spectacular night club the
Benidorm Palace is something else. Great
dancing girls, great acts, great food. Been
there, done that. One for you and your other
half, not the children as the second half has
beautiful dancing girls in beautiful attire and
dancing excellently, but no tops on.
Torrevieja
is a great place to stay or visit. It is
set between two salt water lagoons and is
reputed to have the driest humidity in spain. It
has a Theatre, Cinema, Park of Nations,
excellent beaches, daily Hippy Market on the
plaza, excellent variety of shops and places to
eat. There are fiestas and other events held
throughout the year. They are famous for the
Habaneras singing event in July.
If you go to the main
Spanish Costa Blanca official tourist
site which is in English and navigate your way
to venues you prefer, you will not go far wrong.
Golf is a great sport and there all many
Golf Clubs on where ever you are
staying on the Costa Blanca.
Everyone loves a good
Fiesta. They are in every town and
village at some time in the year. See what
happening near your area.
Tapas & Raciones are great lunch time
meals that Spaniards love to eat at lunch with a
beer/wine/coffee and pan bread slices. Remember
that Tapas is the small portion and Raciones is
the large portion. (Much too large for me). In
most bars & restaurants the selection is very
good. I find the best way is to look for tapas
that are familiar, or to ask if you are not sure
and buy a different one for each person, to all
share. That way if you find a tapas you don't
like you can leave it. |
