Prepare for the Holiday in Advance

There are two main airports for the Costa Blanca. Alicante and Murcia (San Javier). If you are not getting transport supplied to your destination it is a good idea to decide where and how you can get there, either by taxi, car hire or bus are the more popular ways. Taxis are great and very convenient, but can be expensive especially if you don't speak espanol. By far the most convenient is car hire, which will give you the opportunity to visit the surrounding area you are staying in. Alicante airport. Terminal 2 now open. Big changes. Very impressive. 4 levels.

If you have a Sat Nav that has Spain on. Use the post code, usually 5 numbers, of your destination address. Google Maps are an excellent way to get the shortest or fastest route. You will need a real map though. If a long journey, consider motorways, even though there is a cost.

Alicante has a large international airport that has had an extension recently built. It can be confusing. Fortunately there are signs in both Spanish and English. All the shops and services are multilingual. Car hire firms desks are on the floor below luggage collection area. A Spanish phrase book will be very useful. Holiday resorts ok for English, otherwise be prepared.
