Cartagena is in the coastal
Region of Murcia. It is an excellent
place to either visit or stay. The old
architecture is breathtaking.
There are numerous traffic free
streets, which makes for pleasant
walking,
site seeing and shopping. The
restaurants are many and varied.
Like all towns in Spain there are
Fiestas at different times of the
year. A short walk through the old town
takes you to the port, where you can
view the private yachts and motor
vessels as well at the navel ships.
Don't forget to visit their
excellent museum and their
1st Submarine. A trip around the bay
on the
tourist catamaran is excellent.
From the sea the vision of Cartagena is
very different.
For those who would like a tourist
site seeing
Bus Ride, it takes you around all
the places of interest, complete with
audio guide. A tip if you are visiting
by car is to make a note of where it is
parked. A car park is the best. If in
the side streets, it can be confusing.
The
weather on the SE coast is very mild
in winter and can get very hot in the
summer months.
La Manga Del Mar Menor is a resort
town of Murcia. A thin strip of land
100mts. wide and 19km long, with hotels,
restaurants, shops, private apartments
and villas. |
